Round 11: Melbourne Cricket Club

Not the result we wanted last Saturday against Melbourne University as we lost all four matches, but some joy on Tuesday as we rounded out our Superslam campaign with a victory against Northcote. A great crowd-pleasing knock from Chris "Cobba" Thewlis 52 (19), Clint Hinchliffe 41 and an all round performance from Hamish Burrill with bat & ball getting a much need win.

It doesn't get any easier in Round 11 against Melbourne but the opportunity for players with injuries and form gives them the chance to show what they have.

Its great to have Alec Smith back after a knee injury playing football in Tasmania back in 2020, finishing his law degree and DJ career has seen him not play for the magpies in 1057 days. He was building a good first XI portfolio back then so we will be better for his return.

Its going to be a hot one saturday and during the week so make sure to get plenty of fluid into the system and to #SlipSlopSlap

A number of club events coming up including the Boroondara Biggin Scott golf day ( See Club Shop ) and the Dowling Shield boys in action again starting this coming Monday, be ready to enjoy the next few months, lets go pies.

Best of luck to the Dowling Shield boys as they resume this coming Monday. An unfortunate wash out when they had Greenvale at its mercy was a real shame but coach Shaun Prescott is confident they have a good squad.

Information on the upcoming games and the squad are below. We will be updating on the socials, and if you have a chance come watch some of the future.
