MCCOMB REACHES GAME 150

This week our resident 'King of Shred' Griffin McComb brings up game 150 for the club! Griff has been a true journeyman, having played in every grade over his 13 seasons and is a much loved team member to all!
Griff is one of the harder working players at the club, always putting extra hours into his own fitness and this has translated into arguably his best season to date! As one of the few veterans left, Griff is a proven leader, having captained the 2nd and 3rd XIs at different times throughout his career too! He is an extremely valuable asset for the club! On Thursday, it was great to hear from Jack Di Stefano and past player Luke "Cougs" Prior who spoke of their wonderful experiences with Griff throughout the years! Congratulations Griff, go well on the weekend and thankyou for your service to our club!
PIETZ LIGHTS UP THE U17 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
A quick shoutout to one of our young guns, Jakey Pietz who has been playing exceptionally well for Vic Metro in the U17 National Championships! Jakey currently leads all wicket takers with 11 after 4 matches! He took 5/30 yesterday and has taken 4/36 today!
The championships wrap up with two more games on Sunday and Monday before he returns to the Pies for next weeks fixture! Well done Jakey!

Welcome to Jack's Q&A Corner brought to you by Silvan! This week, I sat down with a man who has a very very hot hand, fresh off 6 wickets and he's a bit of workhorse too, that's right, it's Chris "Kit" Gorman!
1. You go by 'Kit', run us through the nickname?
Gorm: Yeah so my family got tired of having to say Christopher everytime and they settled on Kit because it was my Poppa’s favourite character’s son’s name in his favourite comic book the Phantom. It also turns out that Christopher Columbus' nickname was Kit aswell.
Ahh yes the Phantom comics, I used to read them as a kid but don't remember 'Kit', goes to show I was paying attention! Pretty sure the Phantom comics used to have their own showbag back in the day too! And are we talking explorer Christopher Columbus or the director of the first two Harry Potter movies Christopher Columbus?
2. How did you spend your Christmas/New Year's?
Gorm:I I spent Christmas by heading up to Ballarat to see my Mum’s side of the family for lunch before driving back to Melbourne to spend dinner with Dad’s side.
New years I had a great time with my mates at BTV - I even ran into a couple magpies boys up there too.
Oh wow you were very busy on the road! Hope you didn't get stuck in that 3 hour line to get into BTV, that looked like torture. But that sounds like a fun and eventful break!
3. You're a well prepared man come gameday, run us through some of your favourite snacks?
Gorm: Oh love this, many have noticed but dried fruit is the way to go for me, whether it’s dried mango or sultanas - they give you quick and long lasting energy. Hopefully I get a brand deal soon.
I used to be big on the dried fruit come school camp time because it would stay in those snap lock bags for days but glad you've found a use for it outside of a "I literally need any food to survive" situation. I wonder if you've tried fresh fruit because that opens up a whole different ballpark of options!
4. You took 6/13 last time out, how good was that and when should we expect 7 fa?
Gorm: Oh mate, I was pretty stoked with the 6fa. I didn’t even really know what was happening especially since I always check out after 3 wickets. Geez a 7fa would be amazing but I think I just have to remember the KPI’s and bowling game plan and the rest will take care of itself.
If you can remember all the KPI's and game plan off the top of your head then you deserve a 7 fa! But your 6 fa is up there with some of the best in recent times for sure! We were all very happy to see your hard work pay off!
5. If I come over for dinner, what are you cooking for me?
Gorm: Well believe it or not my Mum’s side of the family is Greek as you can tell by my olive skin. So my go to would be lamb chops with a side of lemon potatoes - no need for a salad.
I definitely think a salad is required but oh boy, lamb chops and lemon potatoes (I hope they're extra crunchy) sounds delicious! Greek flavours are exceptional and I reckon this might be my first Greek meal from a Magpie! But you've got high standards to meet cause my partner is Greek and some of the food in that house is next level good!
Thanks to Kit for playing! Who will be next on Q&A Corner? Found in in next weeks newsletter!
