The Camberwell Magpies Cricket Club is pleased to announce that Monaco's Deli has joined the club as the official sponsor of our Under 16 Premier team.
Monaco’s Deli is a family run Italian Delicatessen & Food Store that is located at 525 Camberwell Road, just down the road from our home at McQueen Park.
The Monaco's Deli logo will take pride of place on the front of our Under 16 Premier team's apparel and we are extremely excited to welcome them to the Camberwell Magpies family as they support our future stars.
Monaco's Deli was opened in 1974 by Rosario and Angela Monaco who continued to work in the store until 1996.
Current owner Robert Monaco came into the business full time in 1986 and 10 years later he was joined by his brother Domenic when their parents retired.
The main stay of Monaco's Deli has been their Italian foods, groceries, cheeses from around the world and a huge range of cold meats (salumi) that they freshly slice in front of the customer.
A fun fact about Monaco's Deli; they were one of the first places to serve coffee some years ago. Now there are many cafes that have saturated the area, but Monaco's have continued to make coffee for their customers who just want a no fuss Italian style coffee, be it eat in or takeaway.
One of the biggest parts of the Monaco's Deli business over the years is the huge variety of freshly filled panini (bread rolls) for lunch, utilising their huge range of fresh salumi/meats and cheeses from their delicatessen. These are available from 8am to 3pm unless sold out.
More recently, Monaco's Deli has become known for its hot roast Porchetta, an Italian roast pork made on site by Robert and Domenic.
Monaco's Deli is is open seven days a week and whether people just want milk or bread, Italian imported goods, ingredients for their home cooking or to get their coffee and lunch, they have something for everyone.
