PRE-SEASON
A big CMCC welcome to everyone to the 2022/23 season with Pre Season having 3 weeks to go until the 1st game on 1 October our boys are starting to hit their straps. The numbers at training have been significant not withstanding some still playing football and half a dozen finishing up their commitments overseas.
Some changes to our list with Andrew Fekete having retired, Rishab Guddadamane transferred to Fitzroy Doncaster, Shubs Bhargave to Prahran, Spencer Wood having a year off, Jack Di Stefano has been in the Northern Terrtory on University placement missing some games and
the Stalwart Brett Watkins playing in South Gippsland near his new home.
However a number of new additions in Akshay Kodoth, back from Frankston Peninsula, Andy Gorvin from County Glamorgan in the UK, Nathan Shoesmith from Essendon, a much fitter Will Walker playing a full season, and Alec Smith back from injury and over from Tasmania. A number of our schoolboys will be available full time having completed their year 12 studies.
Our coaching group under Head Coach David Alleyne including Stuart Cann, Andrew Fekete,
Paul Jackson, Shaun Prescott, Evan James and a number of Senior players have worked tirelessly throughout the pre season to ensure the large group in attendance have received plenty of assistance as they set up for the new season.
An innovation this year, suggested by the Head Coach is a group of 14 players plus Coach and Scorer heading to Adelaide next week to play against a SACA Emerging Players team over 2 days. This will be of great benefit to these boys.
ACADEMY
Our Academy this year consisted of 37 boys under Head Coach Shaun Prescott and comprised a number of net sessions at Cricket Victoria Junction Oval plus presentations from Nick Maxwell, Bryan Harper, Dave Francis and Evan James to further the boys knowledge in areas that they probably haven’t been involved in.
Both the boys and the Club will receive great benefit from those participating in the Academy sessions and can only make them better players as their cricket journey proceeds.
PARTNERS
A number of new Partners have agreed to join us this year, details of which will be released in the coming weeks before the season commences. We welcome them and our current partners in the development of the future of our club.
EVENTS
An Events Calendar with an even spread of functions has already been completed covering the whole season which will be released prior to the season to the CMCC Community.
Everyone should note however that the Season Launch which is the 1st function will be held in the Clubrooms after training on Thursday 29 September when a number of Partners will be introduced and initial teams announced for the 1st game against Essendon.
Wishing all players a successful season to climb up that Championship Ladder

A wet Saturday morning last week meant more fitness than ground time with a good turn up from those not still travelling or involved in local winter sport.
