Congratulations to Jobe Fraser who has been selected in the Vic Country Under 19 team for 2025!
A fantastic achievement to remain in the Vic underage pathway program, moving from two seasons in the under 17s straight into the 19s as a bottom ager.
Jobe has had a promising start to the year in the 1st XI and we wish him all the best for the carnival in Perth in December!

MILESTONE 100 GAMES - JACK DI STEFANO

Congratulations to Jack Di Stefano who this week brings up game 100 for the club!
A big thankyou to Edmund Capstick, Tom Vanderslik and Griffin McComb for their very kind words on Thursday night!
We wish Jack and the 3rd XI all the best for the weekend in their first fixture back at the home of cricket, Watson Park!

Welcome to Jack's Q&A Corner brought to you by Lumus Imaging! This week I sat down with our prized recruit of 2025/26, a man who has played for two states and led the Big Bash for wickets, he's got an action that looks like a Peter Garrett dance but boy is it effective, that's right, it's Paddy "Hooley" Dooley!
1. Can you explain what Hooley Dooley means (if you know)?
Paddy: No idea. A quick Google search tells me "The Hooley Dooleys were an Australian children's music and performance act which began in 1996".
I had no idea either so that makes two of us but I'm sure plenty of our elderly readers (you know who you are) will appreciate the Hooley Dooleys being shouted out!
2. You're known for your passionate celebrations, does this come naturally or is it something you've consciously worked on?
Paddy: I've put no work into my celebrations. Taking a wicket is sort of an out of body experience for me. I don't really know what I'm doing once I've taken one but I will cringe when watching it back! As long as it gets my teammates up and about I'm happy.
Oh boy it certainly gets the blood pumping, I feel like I could run through a brick wall after watching you celebrate! Its like a Ravi Shastri pre-toss pump up! That's so cool that you get such a thrill from taking wickets........and even better for us who get to watch it happen!
3. Having lived in three Australian states (QLD, Tas and now Vic) what have you liked most about each?
Paddy: Qld: Is my home state. My family and best mates are back in Brisbane. I loved representing Western Suburbs DCC for 11 seasons in Qld Premier Cricket. Tas: A very easy way of life down there. Getting my opportunity to play professional cricket was the highlight. Vic: Playing for the magpies.
I'm sure our Tasmanian readers will appreciate the shoutout in 2 weeks when the old dial up internet reaches them.......and oh how kind of you to mention the Pies but seriously, there's plenty more to like about Victoria than us! And ok rightio Mr 11 seasons of premier cricket, I'll do you one better, Anton Ponnamperuma 15+ years bowling left arm "can you open the door please" tweakers in 4th grade! #lifemember #committed #neveryield
4. Those with their eyes peeled will have clocked you wearing knee straps at training, can you explain what these are for and confirm whether they provide magical spinning abilities?
Paddy: They do not provide magical spinning abilities. I suffer from a common case of 'old man knees'. The straps allow me to run and jump on game day and then be able to walk on Sunday. And they look pretty cool too.
Old man knees, I've heard that's like shaggers back! But you gotta do what you gotta do to get on the park each week! And I don't know if I'd call them cool, I'd liken them to a leg weight that Kel Knight (Purveyor of Fine Meats) would wear as a fitness fad in Kath & Kim on one of his famous walks!
5. If I come over for dinner what are you cooking for me? Paddy: I recently purchased Christian Petracca's cook book, so something from that. I'm a Queenslander so I knew him for his great recipes on insta without realising that he was a professional AFL player. But while we're on the topic, how about those lions aye.
Petracca is a name I don't really want to hear right now as a Dees fan, I might have to burn the framed poster I have on my wall from 2021 but if he can provide you with a delicious recipe I'll take it! And those Lions are red hot, with the Reverend at the helm they are doing special things!
3 peat next year? Maybe?
Thanks to Paddy for playing! Find out who is next up on Q&A Corner in next rounds newsletter!

Welcome to Tone's Trivia, brought to you this week by Physioworks Health Group!
A massive thankyou to our sponsor Physioworks Health Group for their support of the segment this year! A reminder you are all playing for a highly sought after massage voucher!
Last weeks answer: C) Kieren Jamieson - that's right our sorely missed Osteopath Kieren (who now plays at Glen Iris for those wondering) played 1st Grade for Geelong way back in 2017/18 before he arrived at the Well in 2018/19.
Round 3 Question - Which year did Richmond CC play its final game at Punt Road Oval?
