Welcome to Jack's Q&A Corner brought to you by Bendigo Bank! This week I sat down with a handsome young man who educates our future for a living and he's not just a pretty face, that's right, it's Charlie Simondson!
1. Firstly can we please confirm the pronunciation of your name, is it a short Sim like dim Sim or an elongated Sim sound like Lime?
Simmo: It’s like Lime but I cop both and don’t really care hahaha
Thats fair it's just funny watching Jacko sweating every Thursday deciding whether it's a dim sim or lime night
2. Word on the grapevine is there's a little bromance happening between yourself and Chip (James Jarrett), are you able to provide any comment on these rumours?
Simmo: I’ve taken Chip under my wing since coming to camberwell, as a progidy player, I can confirm there is definitely a bromance there that has flourished since we spent the winter months in the gym working on our rigs - not so much lifting more banter.
Working on the old jaw muscles I see. I can just imagine some of the verbiage leaving Chips mouth. Boy we love a shred bromance, might need to get resident king of shred Griff McComb in with you to get some more lifting happening
3. Congratulations on winning a footy flag with Old Trinity, what position do you play and how good was the win?
Simmo: Play a half back role, with a lack of defensive responsibility. The win was sweet and even better than we knocked off fellow teammate shifter in the prelim.
Half back with no defense is the ideal role! Yeh a shame to see shifta get done but winning a premiership is a special feat!
4. Trigger warning How nice is it working only half the year as a school teacher but still getting a full years salary?
Simmo: It’s a tough career, and I definitely don’t think I get paid nearly enough for the 41 weeks I work in the year.
41 weeks sounds like a stretch given it seems like school holidays only get longer.......but in all seriousness I hope youve got the scouting report out making notes on who will be the next CMCC superstar!
5. If I come over for dinner, what are you cooking for me?
Simmo: Lasagne is the go to, I’ve mastered crispy on the top layer and soft for the others. Expect some garlic bread on the side too, and maybe a side salad to ensure the rig keeps in shape. Coke Zero obviously.
This hits home! It's hard to beat a homemade lasagne and garlic bread and salad too really finish me off! And then you throw in a coke too oh boy this is an exciting dinner!
Looking Mimi's, Simmos lasagne is coming for ya!
