We would love to see as much support as possible for our 1st XI this week down at Princes Park! Let's get behind our boys and hopefully see them into a grand final! Go Pies!
VALE SCOTT NUNAN
This week we lost a member of our CMCC community, Scott Nunan, father of committee member Carl Nunan.
We send our deepest condolences to the Nunan family at this sad time.
Rest in Peace Scott

Miserable weather creates Grand Final drama

The persistent rain on Sunday could not have come at a worse time for our 4 junior teams, who were pumped from Grand Final action.
With all teams reporting to grounds, play was quickly abandoned. Each team and their opponents were left to agree on a path forward, and the following decisions were made:
U12Bs agreed to share the premiership with the Balwyn Blasters. A great result after a fantastic season for the team, with each player making a valued contribution and improving their cricket.
Similarly, U16Bs agreed to share the premiership with Deepdene Uniting, capping off a successful season of cricket for all players.
14Bs have agreed to play Hawthorn Boroondara this Sunday, with many of our players juggling other sporting commitments to make this happen. Our 12As will also play Ashburton Willows on Sunday, with both teams bringing their A games for this Grand Final 2024 rematch with our traditional rivals.
Despite the washout, the results for the 12Bs and 16Bs are exceptional and each player can reflect on an excellent season. Many thanks to our 14B and 12A players and families for their flexibility in accommodating play this weekend, the Junior Committee acknowledges that our families juggle a lot, so we’re delighted to be able to make arrangements for these teams to play.
As always, keep an eye on @cmccjuniors Instagram page over the weekend, where we’ll provide updates on the results for both games. Good luck boys!

Welcome to Jack's Q&A Corner brought to you by Sherlock Wheelbarrows. This week I sat down with another recruit to the club this year and like Arjun, has made a big impact on the scoreboard, made his 1st XI debut two games ago and drives a BMW (fancy), that's right it's Prajay Paramesh!
1. Having had an outstanding season with the bat, do you think you could've scored more runs if you just activated the cheat code and batted on off stump?
Praj: Yeh look can’t lie, thankful for the move to Camberwell as it has taught me to bat on off stump and clear the front dog but most importantly owning my off stump.
Ahhh yes if only we all remembered the secret cheat code handshake to unlock our potential! Spinners only exist to get you from 20 to 100 right?
2. What was the inspiration behind the custom number plate?
Praj: Not the story everyone was probably thinking but it was a surprise bday gift from sach.
How thoughtful of Sach! I was thinking it was a gift from ya parents or grandparents or perhaps you just love your name! For those not aware Praj drives a black BMW with number plate 'PRAJ'.
3. Being someone who grows a magnificent beard, who do you think rivals you in beard quality at the club?
Praj: I reckon Pony gives me a run for my money in the beard department.
Agreed on this one, Pony definitely runner up in the beard department! Closely followed by Sammy Olsen and Grot! Would've thought Bob would be able to do ok given he's like 43 or something......
4. Do you have any pre-game or pre-batting rituals/superstitions?
Praj: How long have you got in this newsletter, this is a long list, but apparently one of them is that I don’t talk to my family before games as stated by sach. But just a few of em is that I always enter and exit the field with my right foot. Then I have a particular order I put my gear on before batting and I have a lot more, let’s just say I’m a superstitious bloke when it comes to cricket.
Wow I actually had no idea you had any superstitions so this question worked out really well! How interesting, I'd love to know how far this goes for example, if you ate an egg for breakfast the day you made 100 would you eat it again every morning before a game moving forward? The human brain is so fascinating!
5. If I come over for dinner what are you cooking for me?
Praj: I can take you through the KFC drive thru if you’d like, im quite well known at my local ones but if you’re looking for something else, I can make a really good Indian bbq
Geez I think I'd be taking option 2 every day of the week! Can't even remember the last time I had KFC! I've never had indian bbq but if it's got the flavour of other indian food boy oh boy I'm in for a treat.....but I might need some milk and a toilet handy just in case it's too spicy!
Thankyou to Praj for playing! Who will be next on Q&A Corner, well if we are still alive next week, you'll find out!
