The Camberwell Magpies are proud to announce the appointments of Tim Nelson and Mark Graven as Co-Presidents of the club, as elected at the recent 2023 AGM.
Their appointment comes in light of Peter Warner stepping down as President, after his second stint in the top job over the past 3 years. Pete departs a life member and a much loved character of the Magpie family. We thank you for your service and we look forward to seeing you around the club in future years.
Tim's appointment comes after acting as chairman of selectors for the 2022-23 season where he became a well respected figure around the club. Tim is also the father of current players Tom, Josh and Ed who are all a big part of the clubs future. On his appointment Tim noted, “I am looking forward to working with Mark Graven to build on the strong foundations of our club. We will continue to be bold and invest in coaching and our young playing group to create an environment for sustained success." Tim brings over 25 years of business consulting experience to the role and we look forward to watching the club grow further under his helm.
Mark also known as Gravo around the club, has been a part of the Magpie family for the past 12 years and has served on the committee for the last 10 years. Similar to Tim, Mark brings a business finance mind to the job and his knowledge of the clubs ins and outs will be of benefit to all. Mark notes, "Tim's background in leadership, business and sports administration is undoubted, and its a great win for the club to have someone of his calibre driving its direction and culture"
Tim and Marks appointments have everyone at the club very excited for the upcoming season and we wish you all the best for your tenures as Co-Presidents.
We would also like to recognise Peter Liepens and Carl Nunan on their appointments as general committee members and to club favourite Robert Capstick on his appointment as treasurer. For the full list of committee members for the 2023-24 season please click the link below.
